Profile

History
Designstone was established in 2007 by its Managing Director, Paul Slinger. Since then, the company has relocated, employed staff, developed a 100% annual growth rate, won a local print and graphic excellence PAGE Award and expanded its client base across government, small to medium enterprises, not-for-profit associations and schools.

Why the name ‘Designstone’?
Before embarking on its launch, Designstone’s founder was moved by a documentary titled ‘Being Here: The Art of Dan Horgan (2004)’. After experiencing the trauma of serving in Vietnam, Dan Horgan retreated from society, choosing instead to create environmental art by placing stone's on beaches. Horgan’s work is a direct response to his immersion in a particular place. The documentary investigates the relationship between the work of one’s hand and one’s heart and offers a glimpse into a world too often kept secret – the private world of creativity. Designstone unveils creative advertising, branding, publications and public relations solutions for its clientele using honesty, vision, drive and a thirst for knowledge.

Values
Together with its staff, suppliers and clientele, Designstone is happy to be leading quietly using its straight talking values. It always listens, uses positive language and enjoys approaching things differently. It has present awareness to maintain your perspective, is always open to reason using empathy and is committed to efforts that provide a social benefit.
